Mike has been a member of the Belize Audubon Society since1971 and has held many offices in BAS, and first vice president for the past several years. He has also been a part of many various environmental and tourism committees and boards, including the Fisheries Advisory Board, and was instrumental in helping get the Catch and Release law passed in 2009 to protect Bonefish, Permit & Tarpon.
Marguerite and her niece, Deborah, were present to cheer Mike on when he received this prestigious award. Along with Mike; Rudy Burgos, Lascelle Tillet, Dr. Judy Lumb, also had the wonderful honor of receiving BAS’s James A Waight Award. Lydia Waight and Meg Craig received the BAS Lifetime Award.
