A Quick Reflection and update on Travel to Belize

Hello to everyone,

I was confirming some trips and realized we were already a ¼ of the way through 2021, where has the last three months gone? It always seems, that where time is concerned, we either have way too much or not enough.

Well, we are open! Guest have been coming and going for the last few months and while BRL has had to make some small changes from the way we did things, the new system is moving along and working well. Mike and Marguerite and all the BRL crew have been happy to welcome back long time guests and are enjoying meeting our new visiting guests. Karen mentioned that everyone has been so very nice. Amazing, some of our yearly friends who fish multiple trips a year, are enjoying working out their casting kinks after not fishing for a year.

One guest mentioned that after doing all he could over the last 12 months, he was fully vaccinated and ready for “vacci-cation”. We liked the expression so much that we asked if we could borrow it, so thanks Mr. Jamie, your expression is a hit.

A few positive updates on getting to/from Belize.

#2. Belize has made life easier to visit and is accepting proof of full COVID-19 immunization received at least 2 weeks prior to arrival in Belize. IF a person can show proof of the two vaccinations (your vaccination card), with the second dose completed a minimum of 2 weeks before their arrival in Belize, you do not need to PCR test before entering Belize. Presently, in the USA this means Pfizer or Moderna vaccines as Johnson & Johnson is only one shot, it does not qualify at this time.

If you have not vaccinated, a negative COVID-19 Real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test taken within 96 hours of travel OR a negative rapid Rapid Antigen, Sophia, SD Bisensor, ABBOT (Panbio) test taken within 48 hours of travel.

We have some space for fishing now until the summer and if you have not planned your summer Flats fishing get-away, Belize River Lodge will again offer our summer/fall specials, dates not yet determined. We will have more information on this in the coming weeks.

We look forward to seeing you all soon.
Warm regards,
